SSQ - Playback

Here is Playback by SSQ, released in 1983. I don't know a whole about this one, so I can't be too informative. I know they were on the Return of the Living Dead soundtrack. This is the only album by SSQ, the singer Stacey went solo as Stacey Q and had guest appearances as "Herself" on Full House and Hollywood Squares.

1 Synthicide
2 Jet Town
3 Big Electronic Beat
4 Clockwork
5 Screaming in My Pillow
6 Anonymous
7 Walkman On
8 N'Importe Quoi
There's also an extended version of Synthicide included.

Wow, I LOVE this record!!!! Sounds a lot like "Pleasure Victim"-era Berlin with a stronger Kraftwerk influence. Who would have that thought that Stacey Q actually made good music once upon a time? Do you by chance have the full "Synthicide" 12" single or any of SSQ's other singles? I would be very interested in hearing full downloads of these. Thank you SO MUCH for posting this!

You're my Hero! I've been trying to find this forever. Back in the early 80s I loved Berlin and if SSQ was a carbon copy I'm fine with that 'cause it's more of the stuff I loved. Synthecide sounds pretty much like Masqerade by Berlin but the other ones like Jet Town and Walkman are a bit different. Oh man the memories are rolling back of me walking around Santa Cruz wearing hospital green new wave clothes like some member of Prince's band.

Synthecide's full of glitches and pops.

Thank you so much for making this album available. I have been looking for it for a long time now. My roommate had this album when I was in college. I have not heard "Anonymous" or "Clockwork" in 23 years.

Lots of thanks. I was at the university when this record came to my country. In those times having an LP was expensive and exclusive. I had the chance to record it on cassete at a FM broadcast station. That tape was a relic for a very long time. Thanks again and greeings from Chile.
