Today I bring you Richard Band’s music to the films The House on Sorority Row and The Alchemist. Ah, The House on Sorority Row - the finest “severed head in a toilet” movie of our time. One of the seemingly forgotten 80’s slasher classics. The film’s centerpiece of course being a scene where one of the girls discovers another girl’s decapitated head in a toilet. At least I think it would be the centerpiece, it’s the only part I can remember right now. It’s been several years since I saw it last, but this horrible, albeit pretty damn funny act of dismemberment definitely stands out. I mean seriously, not only is the poor girl’s capa detated from her body, it’s stuffed, eyes wide open into a toilet. It’s just sitting there, looking at you. From Within the Bowl! Or something. That’s just cruel. The movie also stars some guy who looks like a young Tony Danza! The Alchemist on the other hand I have not seen. But it comes to us from the director of Dollman vs. Demonic Toys and Richard’s very own brother Charles Band, so there is a good chance a puppet or some kind may make an appearance.
Anywho, the music for House is actually genuinely classy. Very well done I must say, coming from the man who did the music for Laserblast. The music from the Alchemist isn’t bad either, just a bit Full Moony.

Thanks for posting this. I have been looking for this score for a long time. The head in the toilet scene is pretty weird, especially when she opens her eyes. I always remember from the movie. Also the scene where some fat guy (in his underwear) gets pushed into the swimming pool and says "I'm a sea pig."
Thanks from me also :) I was looking for this one. I love the Band scores.
Yes! Finally! Thanks for putting this up, it's virtually impossible to get a hold of.
I feel really dumb to ask but how can i download it. the link that is shown leads me nowhere.

Just wanted to say thanks. Film scores have become a recent obsession of mine, and this is helping to satiate it!
Thanks for posting this :-)
You gotta love a Slashermovie that has a score performed by the London Philarmonic Orchestra!
Richard Band is way underrated.
I love this movie, I remember that it had the worst actress in cinematic history, some blonde bimbo who acts like a total moron.
"What if she IS still alive?"...comedy gold.
Any chance of re-uploading this score please? I've been after it for absolutely ages! I love this movie.
Fantastic work on your blog too - really appreciated.
Thanks!
