Just because it's a love story doesn't mean it can't have a decapitation or two

Here is J. Peter Robinson’s score for Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. New Nightmare is so far the final installment in the actual Nightmare On Elm Street series (Freddy Vs. Jason doesn’t count, does it?) and reunites Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp and John Saxon(!). They last appeared together in The Dream Warriors in 1987. The movie also starred Miko Hughes, who in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s was kinda like the little white kid version of Samuel L. Jackson. That kid was in everything. I’d always just referred to him as “Boys have a penis, Girls have vagina”-kid. Just now bothered to check what his name was. Probably should’ve done that years ago because that Kindergarten Cop line doesn’t really work so well on people who haven’t seen the movie as I‘ve come to find out. Makes you sound a bit like a pervert.

This film was pretty successful in briefly making us find Freddy frightening again after several years of him essentially being a child/teenager murdering stand-up comedian. If Red Buttons and Cropsy had a kid.... Not that I mind the "knock-knock joke" Freddy, I like all the Nightmare movies, but he certainly wasn’t very scary in half of them. New Nightmare also taught us that maybe Wes Craven shouldn’t act.

So far in the poll Samson Vs. The Vampire Women is in the lead for the next installment of MST3K. I'll keep it up for the rest of the day, so vote if you haven't already. Then on Monday or Tuesday I'll get the winner posted.
