Lucio Fulci's Zombie/Umberto Lenzi's Cannibal Ferox

I've been getting requests for the music from Lucio Fulci's Zombie (or Zombie 2, Zombie Flesh Eaters, or whichever you want to call it) for a while now, so here's the long out of print Blackest Heart Media Cannibal Ferox/Zombie soundtrack. Featuring music from both Umberto Lenzi's Cannibal Ferox and the aforementioned Fulci's Zombie.

Even if you don't like Zombie, you've gotta respect Fulci for having the balls to film a scene in which a zombie fights a shark. In theory a zombie vs. a shark in a battle to the death is pretty ridiculous, however, the scene, while pretty funny, is actually incredibly well done. Some great work from the stunt zombie, plus the whole scene looks great in my opinion. Zombie also has one of the most recognizable zombies of all Italian zombie films. Yep, I'm talking about this guy. He was only in the movie for about 50 seconds before his untimely demise, but that poster of him all maggoty and grinning with the brilliant "We Are Going To Eat You" tagline is legendary.

There are some great tracks on here, although track 24 sounds like something straight out of Weekend At Bernie's II. At first this was kind of odd, but it really isn't too strange if you think about it since Bernie's II could be kind of considered a zombie movie, at least a little bit, what with the voodoo and all. Not a bad track, I'm just saying, it sounds too "wacky buddy comedy" and doesn't really sound like it belongs in a gut munching zombie epic.

There was a small glitch on my CD during track 15, not really a skip, just a very brief loss of sound. So I tried to edit the brief silence out and it shouldn't be too noticeable unless you're listening for it. If someone out there has that track minus the glitch please send it my way and I'll add it to the post.

Thanks! Downloading it far as your comment about Track 15, assuming you ripped this on your computer, were you running anything else or doing anything else while ripping this? That could account for what you described. Will be interesting to compare these tracks with what was posted in Requests.

You are the MAN. I have had a really dreary, crappy day and this has just made it better. THANK YOU, ALOT. I've wanted this one for a long time. Again, YOU ARE THE MAN.

Oh my God! I love this movie and I've been looking for the soundtrack for so long. I remember I'd watch the film sometimes just for the music. Thanks! I love this blog!

Folks, don't forget to look over in The Manchester Morgue's requests page also....we were talking about another ZOMBIE soundtrack release (there should still be a link posted over there) which has additional tracks not included in this release Phelpster posted.

....and I just posted these:

You rule! Thanks so much.

Thanks for the soundtrack phelpster. I like both of these films (well apart from the animal stuff in Ferox), and they both have great soundtracks!

And thanks greg for your additions!

This is awesome, I myself have requested this one on more than one occasion so this is fanfuckintastic. While searching the morgue for other Fulci soundtracks I stumbled upon the beyond and city of the living dead Fulci Requiem in blood but the file appears to be dead, if you could up that again it would be so badass! Thanks.

Ah, so is there any demand still for the full soundtrack on my Japan Shock DVD? In any case I agree, the film is pretty darn good, with the shark fight and splinter scenes, and that one gut-muncher is just classic. The zombie icon.

Greg said...

Absolutely.....because what's on your JS DVD is likely a more complete recording of the score, so rip it and post for us, please! :-)

I think the link is dead, isn't it? If you can re-upload it please? Because I am the anonymous who requested on the request's page!

Greg said...

The link is fine....when you click on it, the next page that comes up will have a button that says Continue.....and you need to click that to get to the actual download page.

To the anonymous with the Japan Shock DVD - Yeah, like Greg said, if it's not a huge hassle for you to rip it, please do and share it with us. I could add it to the post if you wanted, or make a separate post or something. What I posted doesn't have a ton of stuff from Zombie, so that would be cool to get something more complete.

I don't know why, but I can't go to the download page. It says that there is an error somewhere... WHY?! I don't understand... Can someone help me? -Anonymous who requested this soundtrack the first...

Hopefully that will work for you, if not just let me know.

Mesmerizing terror like a floating moving monolithic black pyramid of death surrounded by a marching sea of hunger raging zombies. Especially love the long lost Godzilla Demo version. Thank you very much for this audio treasure :)
