A Remake On Elm Street

We have a trailer. Looks pretty decent, some of the shots of Freddy in the shadows are very striking, but I'm not too sure about the one actual face shot we get at the end. He looks almost...cute? Like a burnt muppet or something. I can't quite put my finger on it, but he looks like a cute loveable character I've seen before.

I thought it was the sequel to Little Children at first.

Wow. I'm not sure whether to comment on the preview or on The Long Island Ripper's comment. Both are kind of funny... Micheal Bay sure knows how to make a dollar, I guess. Looks terrible... but I am sure that I will love it.

Voice...

Argh!

Hoping for the best and that the voice will be in keeping with this version of the character (Englund's got a bit sleazier as he became wisecrackin' ol' pizza face in the later flicks).

I was wondering if there were going back to the non-stripey sleeves version of Freddy from the original but the flashback scene shows stripes in full effect.

I know this is utterly unimportant but it's the little details that we tend to hang on to.

I've got my doubts, but I'm willing to suspend them for Haley. While the "re-make" fad is getting out of hand, I'm not opposed to re-making slasher films because the sequels were all re-makes, anyway. It can't be any worse than, say, Elm Street 2. Or 6.

AGREEMENT.

I have a terrible feeling about this...Why making a remake ? why not making something decently original, just for once !

@Docrate1:

Because it's been a while since Hollywood took a gamble on anything, that is why. Also, since the strike and financial crisis, it's all about making a quick buck. Developing a NEW story takes too much time, so let us steal some known title and reboot it all the way up to now, so todays youths can identify more with the characters (they now have cell phones, ipods and listen to offending r&b tunes).

The trailer is what I expected. I'm so much gonna hate this film, but you already guessed that by now.
And what is up with Freddy's voice?? And face?? It's like an out-of-work clown that now does kid's parties dressed as Freddy.

Would've have been better if they had stuck to just a prequel.You know,tell the full story of Freddie Krueger's life leading up to his fiery demise at the hands of the parents.The trailor looked good,at least the part where Freddy is chased and burnt to death.

The Cap.

He looks like that Turtle thing from The Neverending Story, the one that has multiple personality disorder and lives in the swamp of despair or whatever.
