Kung Fu Girls on the Rampage - Retromedia Releases Wonder Women

I overlooked this the other day, new from Retromedia is Robert V. O'Neill's Wonder Women. There was at one point some conflict between Retromedia and Code Red who both announced a release of the film around the same time. No idea who had the proper rights to the film, or if Code Red still plans to put their own version out later on, but the Retromedia release is out now for those of you interested. Though sadly the piece of visual badassery seen above is not the actual DVD cover. I wasn't interested in this one at first, but then I saw this and promptly changed my mind:

When top level athletes start to disappear, insurance giant Lloyd’s of London hires slick investigator Mike Harber (Ross Hagen) to unravel the mystery. What Mike discovers is an island in the Philippines controlled by the evil Dr. Tsu (Nancy Kwan) where she and her sidekick (Sid Haig) run an organ transplant operation with the help of a deadly, all-girl army. This terrific slice of 70’s exploitation movie making comes to DVD sporting an all-new widescreen transfer from 35mm film materials plus extensive bonus materials: audio commentary track with director Robert V. O'Neill, on-set Super 8mm home movies, radio spots, TV spots, theatrical trailers, missing scenes from the European version, video interview with stuntman Erik Cord, still photo gallery from original color slides & negatives, media gallery, and scenes from the uncompleted sequel, WARRIOR WOMEN. Stars Nancy Kwan, Ross Hagen, Sid Haig, Roberta Collins, Vic Diaz, Maria De Aragon, Tony Lorea, Claire Polan, and Shirley Washington.

The conflict you mention is apparently still going! The Retromedia dvd is now gone from Amazon (as in the PAGE has been deleted!) and Bill Olsen says he'll put out the film on a double disc at some point. Too bad as the CR disc won't have all the cool extras from the Retro release.

Yeah, I saw that the other day. It blows because I waited to pull the trigger, and the bastard is just gone now. It does appear to be In Stock at Deep Discount, I might try and grab one there just in case it is in fact in stock.

I'm sure Bill plans on releasing it at some point, but he's had movies that he's been saying he's going to release for years now. Hope that's not the case with this one.
