Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie - The Press Kit

A few weeks back the long out of print Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie was finally re-released on DVD after an 8 year wait. The original DVD went out of print around 2000-2001 so fans had to pay out the ass on eBay or import the German DVD that came out a couple of years back if they wanted to own a copy.

This re-release is great for people who didn’t own a DVD player in 2000 and missed the original DVD, but for whatever reason the collective heads of knuckle over at Universal decided against including any special features. Admittedly the cover is quite snazzy (Shiny good) but there is nothing beyond the movie for you to enjoy once the end credits roll. Now, if there were no features out there then the lack of inclusion would make sense – a quality presentation of the movie is the most important feature after all. But there are deleted scenes on YouTube (YouTube - soon to be used in a lame joke near you!) and there is also a 30 minute long, rather interesting press kit which I just so happen to be posting here today. There are several clips from the movie, like most of these types of features, but there is some great behind the scenes footage included as well.

The video is a little under 400 MB and the links can be found below. I put the 4 parts up on Rapidshare, so just click the one link below to access the folder.

CREEPY - Phallic Spaceship Spectacular!

Here are 6 more issues of CREEPY - issue #105, 106, 107, 108, 109, and 110. The spaceships on the cover of 109 kind of resemble what I'd imagine a clown's penis would look like. Upon further inspection of the issue the spaceships in the actual Alien Affair story don't look like clown wangs nearly as much as Jim Laurier's cover would lead you to believe. I think someone's mind was in the gutter. That or he was disgruntled and tried to get fired - like that guy who supposedly did something similar on the Little Mermaid poster.

What Nameless Evil Lurks in the...Crypt of Shadows (?)

No, really, I'm asking...what nameless evil does lurk in the Crypt of Shadows? Anyone have any idea? I've gotta say, personally, I'm a bit stumped. For my 550th post (wavy gravy, that's a lot) I bring you what I believe is the entire run of Marvel's short lived Crypt of Shadows series. If you can't guess from the title or the covers this series isn't far removed from the EC Tales from the Vault of Shock Suspenstories style of storytelling. In other words, refrain from partaking in evildoing because payback's a bitch! A bitch usually involving some sort of zombie carnage.

The rar file available for download below contains issues 1-21, from January 1973 to November 1975. Like I said, I'm pretty sure the series only lasted for 21 issues, but I could be mistaken. If I am I'm sure someone will let me know.

Since these comics are only little over 20 pages each the files aren't nearly as big as the Warren issues I post (which are usually over 60 pages), it only ended up being about 150 MB for all 21 issues. I've split them over two parts and you need both parts to view the comics.

Linnea Quigley's Horror Workout Custom Cover

I thought I'd post something a little out of the ordinary today. Here it is, one of the few exercise videos endorsed by The Manchester Morgue, Linnea Quigley's Horror Workout (Warm Up with Traci Lords and Jennie Garth's Body in Progress being the others I endorse).

Those of you who have been with me for a while will remember that I posted the Music I ripped from this quite a while ago but it's just such a bizarre video I thought it'd be fun to share here. Anyway, I recommend any Linnea fans, people who really, really like zombies no matter what they're doing, or people who just have bad taste in general download this at once.

I had a higher quality image of the cover here, but copies started showing up on eBay using my cover. Linnea's manager contacted me, so I felt it was best to remove the cover.

Warning: This video contains excessive nudity, gratuitous crimped hair, undead calisthenics and a slasher wearing a Ronald Reagan mask, (about 17 years prior to same idea being used in the film The Tripper). Children under 17 please get your parent's permission before viewing this video.

Dawn of Tears - Descent

This is not my upload but I wanted to point any fellow metal fans to a free download of Dawn of Tears excellent Descent album. The band is offering the entire album in one conveniently downloadable zip file, for the price of zero American dollars. They're a melodic death metal band from Spain and this, their debut album was one of my favorites of last year. You may remember them from my Death By Metal compilation. Or if you didn't check that compilation out you can always check them out on their MySpace page, even though we all know MySpace is the devil and should normally be avoided at all costs.

I think it's very cool of the band to offer such a quality album for free, here's the tracklist:

1 Blaspheme Natured Messiah 6:50
2 The Pit and the Pendulum 5:35
3 Lost Verses 4:38
4 Poisoned Minds, Shattered Hearts 4:35
5 Echoes of Eternal Life 5:31
6 Invisible Words of Madmen 5:22
7 Bleeding Away 5:55
8 Uncertain Life 5:10
9 Blood on Verona 14:35

CREEPY - Demon Beasts Unleashed!

Okay, just wanted to apologize for the lack of updates the past week or so. I was able to secure a job pretty quickly here in my new stomping grounds, but unfortunately it's a job that KICKS MY ASS. So I've either been too busy, tired or kinda injured in some way or another to actually take the time to make any posts - even though I've had last Wednesday's Warren issues uploaded for several days now. So now that I finally have a bit of time here are 6 more issues of Creepy. This set includes #99, 100, 101, 102, 103, and 104.

I just put them all up in one MEGA link, hope that works for everyone:

And, while I'm here I thought I'd point out DeepDiscount's current Anchor Bay Father's Day Buy 1 Get 1 Sale to anyone out there looking to get some cheap AB stuff. I went with the 2 seasons of Sledge Hammer! for $18, because I think it's what Hammer would want. And no, my asskicker of a job is not working for the aforementioned online DVD retailer, just trying to save any fellow cheap bastards some money.

Creepy Vs. Vampirella in a duel to the death!

Okay that title doesn't really make any sense, but I was kinda stumped coming up with something clever so it will have to do. Thanks to a couple of my loyal visitors I've gotten scans of some of the missing Creepy and Vampirella issues I didn't have before. Thanks guys! Starting with Creepy we have issue 32, 89 and 91. And moving on to Vampi we've got issue 11, 12 and 43. One of the Vampirellas is a PDF file but you should still be able to read it with no problems.

Creepy must've really enjoy the artwork from the cover of Vampirella 11 because they used the same artwork for the cover of issue 91. I wonder if Frank was paid twice...
