CREEPY - Special Ed Dracula Lives!

Here are 8 more issues of CREEPY. This set includes 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 117 and 118. I don't know what's up with the vampire on the cover for 112, kinda looks like Lon Chaney's Phantom of the Opera with down syndrome. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Here's an ad from that same issue is an ad I always enjoy seeing. And since I've pretty much put the kibosh on my Space Bastard site I thought I'd post it here.

Genuine soil from Dracula's Castle? In a tiny glass coffin, artistically secured on a gold chain? Sold!

Anyone out there ever actually own one of these Dracula dirt necklaces? I used to really want one of these when I was a kid, (along with everything else in the back issues I used to read). Of course I didn't realize at the time that Creepy had stopped being printed in 1983, when I was all of 2 years old. Plus most of the issues I actually owned were from the 70's, so I don't know how successful I would've been in sending away for the dirt necklace. Or the Creepy Undies.

Owned a Dracula Dirt pendant - still do, though it's something that stays in the jewelry box as a novelty, rather than something I actually wear.

Oh, and the lil' coffin was plastic, regardless of what the ad may have said.

Hah! I remember that ad! When I was a kid -- this was around 1970-73 -- my older sister had a secret box with a bunch of Creepies, Eeries, and a few pre-code ECs. I used to sneak into her room while she was at school and read them while listening to Disney haunted house sound effect records.

Thanks so much for the downloads.

There's a story I still remember after 38 years, about a man who's killed by his wife's lover, who comes back from the dead and stakes his wife and her lover to a nest of flesh-eating ants. Maybe it's in this batch, which I'm still downloading. On the other hand, it's fun looking, so I won't be disappointed if it isn't.

  6. I've still got a Dracula soil pendant that survived my childhood. Anon, is right - the coffin is plastic and not near as elegant looking as the one in the picture. Looking at the price ($19.95 w/ shipping) I find it hard to believe that my parents sprung for it at the time.

  8. Yes, I still have my pendant... Sadly, the glue they udes to hold the plastic halves together broke and part of the soil escaped... Beware -- take care! All of your pendants are on a time limit as the glue separates even as we speak!

    Have a great weekend
