I'm suffering through a particularly awful Family Guy episode right now. And I actually like Family Guy - despite Seth McFarlane's best efforts to stop me from doing so with all of these goddamn musical numbers. Anybody like those? Does anybody know anyone who likes those? Anyway, that has nothing to do with anything, just needed to vent my frustration about this lengthy Rush Limbaugh musical number. Here you go, enjoy some particularly awesome San daikaijû: Chikyû saidai no kessen (Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster) lobby cards. Filmed in Eastman Color, my favorite color to film something in because it makes me think of George Eastman.
Thank you for saying what needed to be said. I was a late comer to Family Guy. I missed it on its first go-around, then watched it when it returned to Fox. I was initially irritated with it, then got sucked in by its Dada-esque charm. Until now, all my irritation with all things McFarlane seemed to be contained in the pointless (The Cleveland Show) spin-off and rehash (the unappealing American Dad), but lately, I feel like FG has run its course and is a little long in the tooth. Yeah, the musical bits are really annoying, too.
Thank you for the lobby cards AND for the Family Guy thing.
Seth is one of those geniuses who needs to be reigned in now and again.
Lately FOX has failed to do so and his show has gone quickly down hill.
I actually turned off the 100th episode ten minutes in, it was so bad, and forced myself to watch his latest Christmas show, hoping it would get better. It did not.
Your site however is better and I keep coming back to you.
This truly is awful "music". However, we should always try to find a positive or learn a lesson and here is what I take away. Parents: Please do not praise your kids for every silly thing they do and tell them how unique and creative they are when, they are in fact, not. Push, encourage to do better, teach, instruct, etc and when it's time, be realistic. This is an album made by people who's parents should have encouraged them to get real jobs.
The soundtrack for Titanic, has been one of the best soundtracks yet made. Many will not agree but when you listen to it closely, the rhythm, words or no words, touch deep within the heart. These can even bring tears to your eyes. When I first saw the movie, I didn't think of it much but sad, now that it's been a few years since I saw it, I can relate to the movie, not with the experiences but with the music that was made for it. It really makes a connection. This has been so far, the best soundtrack I have ever heard, and the movie, is my all time favorite. I really hope that once, when you get a chance to listen to the item played, you can hear their meaning.

ReplyDeleteThese ARE very cool. King Ghidorah is my all-time fave kaiju.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big Family Guy fan, for obvious reasons, but I have to admit that I've always hated songs being forced into episodes.
ReplyDeleteIs it to show off Seth's other talents such as singing and writing lyrics, or are they there to fill the 22 mins?
Nothing personal though, I feel the same way regarding The Simpsons or whatever.
Thank you for saying what needed to be said.

I love Monster Zero. I hate Family Guy and Seth McFarland.
