Maniac Remake Gets VHS-ified!

The apparently absolutely amazing Maniac remake is out there terrorizing the shelves of your local video stores today. If you haven't picked up a copy yet, it's still only $11 for the Blu-ray at Amazon. In addition to Blu-ray and DVD releases, VHS collectors should be very excited to hear that MondoTees is putting out this fantastic limited edition (500 copies) clamshell VHS. They don't appear to be available for purchase just yet, but keep checking out the Mondo site, they should be up soon there soon. And knowing how popular all this Mondo stuff is they'll probably be out of stock very soon after.

Preorder Maniac For Only $10.96

Franck Khalfoun's Maniac has been getting pretty much universal praise allover the internet - from those who weren't appalled by the level of violence, that is. Cover art and specs are both yet to be announced, but I thought some of you would be interested to know that Amazon currently has the Blu-ray up for preorder at the amazingly low price of $10.96 with an October 15th release date. I'd put in your order now to lock in the price because it will surely jump back up in the $20 range come October 15th.

On a side note - Franck Khalfoun's name might just be the most difficult name to type that I've ever come across. I've misspelled this dude's name about 15 different ways in the 3 or 4 Maniac posts I've done. Franc Kalhoun, Frank Kalhoun, Franck Kalfhoun...it's a very easy name to make a typo on - I recommend he change his name to Frank Kalhoun to make it easier for me.

Bloody Disgusting's Exclusive Maniac Remixes

Bloody Disgusting has scored a couple of remixes of the track Haunted from Rob's soundtrack to Franck Khalfoun's Maniac. Anyone who doesn't want any spoilers for Maniac should be careful clicking that link as there are a few animated gifs that spoil a few of the film's more graphic moments including a scalping and a face peeling. If you're worried about spoilers, you can find both tracks on BD's Soundcloud page. There are a few spoilers in the video below as well, though they aren't as spoilery.

Maniac - The Remake: The Official Poster

Bloody Disgusting just posted an exclusive peek at the official theatrical poster for the Elijah Wood Maniac remake. Now this is what I'm talking about. The last few posters were a bit on the stale side, this new poster is creepy, weird and offputting, exactly what one would expect from a Maniac poster. Not as eyecatching as the poster for the original film, but still, quite good. Still would've loved to see this Mondo poster as the official poster.

Maniac gets a limited theatrical release and hits VOD on June, 21st.
