Asei Kobayashi & Micky Yoshino - Hausu (1977)

This is the soundtrack from the truly bizarre 1977 Japanese film Hausu. I was actually set to post the film as well, but I read that Criterion will be releasing it (awesome!) next year, so I don't want to piss those guys off. You can find it on many other sites if you know where to look, if you can't wait until they release it.

1. Main Theme 3:51
2. Buggy Boogie 4:55
3. Hungry House Blues 6:16
4. Eat 3:16
5. Sweet Dreams Of Days Gone By 1:58
6. A Letter In The Past 2:44
7. Cherries Were Made For Eating 3:23
8. Eat Eat 3:55
9. In The Evening Mist 2:28
10. Oriental Melon Man 3:16
11. Eat Eat Eat 0:52
12. Love Theme 5:33

The girls will wake up... when they are hungry.

When the DVD does come out, I urge everyone to check it out. One of the strangest movies I've ever seen, up there with the likes of Dr. Caligari. I do recommend those with epilepsy avoid the movie from the 1:10-1:14 mark because this thing goes from odd to completely apeshit towards the end there. I could see it inducing a seizure or two.

Good soundtrack, some of it sounds like Japanese Carpenters and Goblin too.

Thanks, Phelpster! I just saw this incredible movie for the first time about 2 weeks ago and spent hours looking for a soundtrack download. All the links were dead, but now- this. Kismet.

P.S. The DVD seems to have German subs only, but I've read somewhere that you don't really need them...

Thanks for the rare tune-age! I recorded this when it was on TV, but it got deleted, so I never saw it. Great to hear it's coming out on DVD!
