SCREAM! The Creepiest Comic Ever!

Here's the first four issues of SCREAM!, the short-lived comic from the UK that sort of came and went in the mid-80's. Being that I was only about 3 (and American) when SCREAM! came out, I'd never really heard much about it, so it was cool checking them out when I found them. Well, these aren't my scans, so I mean it was cool checking out the scans when I found them to download. The covers are pretty weak compared to what you'd get with any issue of Creepy or Eerie, or the Tales From the Crypt/Vault of Horror comics, but the interior artwork is great. For more info on SCREAM, I suggest you take a look at the SCREAM! Back From The Depths site. They have a lot of information on the comic, plus a couple of issues to check out as well.

Barry Goldberg - Return of the Living Dead 3

Brian Yunza's Return of the Living Dead 3. Return of the Living Dead is my favorite movie, so obviously it's my favorite of the trilogy, but I think Part 3 would be my second favorite. It's not a great movie, but I do think it's a respectable effort. Of course, don't take my word for it, I even like Part 2, which is considered by many to be a complete and total piece of crap. I think what bothered most people about Part 2 was the overuse of cheesy comedy. Sure the original was very funny, but that was due to the characters and how they reacted to the situations. Part 2 tries to be wacky a little bit too much, I'm amazed they didn't work a zombie fart joke into the film. (By the way, I'm aware of and own ROTLD 4 Necropolis and ROTLD 5 Rave From The Grave, but I refuse to acknowledge those as actual Return of the Living Dead films.)

ROTLD 3 is much more serious than any of the other films in the series. Perhaps a little too serious to where it's even a bit depressing at times. Starring Melinda Clarke (or Mindy as she's credited in this), of recently canceled mindless melodramatic teeny bopper soap opera The O.C. as Julie, a girl who bites it in a motorcycle accident while running away with her aspiring drummer boyfriend. The boyfriend, Curt, is played J. Trevor Edmond, who you might recognize as the tremendously miscast badass in the hilariously terrible Pumpkinhead 2. Curt is distraught over losing Julie, because while he didn't know her all that long, she was really, really hot. Oh, and he loved her. I guess. So he does what any loving boyfriend would do, sneaks her corpse into his father's top secret military lab and resurrects her with some zombifying toxin. Since Curt never saw the full effect of what this toxin does to a corpse, this plan backfires as she gradually turns into a flesh-eating she-beast. Albeit, a hot flesh-eating she-beast. It's a pretty good film overall, but I think it has too much of a military sci-fi film kind of feel during several scenes. Still, check it out if you haven't already.

Alan Silvestri - Back to the Future II

Back to the Future Part II, my personal favorite of the BTTF Trilogy. I still think Part I was the best overall, but I enjoy Part II a little bit more. The plot to Part II actually gets pretty complicated, but it remains very funny, exciting and highly entertaining. Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd are great as always but Thomas Wilson steals the show as like 5 different Biffs. There's Geriatric Biff, Young Stupid Griff, 50's Biff, 1985 Biff, and Incredibly Wealthy Alternate Universe 1985 Biff. That is a ton of Biff, and being that Biff is hilarious, that's alright by me.

Anyone else remember Pizza Hut's promotional sunglasses they came out with immediately after the release of Back to the Future II? I used to have the whole set, when I was a kid, no idea where they are now. Judging by this picture, I think I can live without them:

EERIE - Illustrated Pages of Terror and Suspense!

This is an idea I got from the spectacular X-Y-Z-Cosmonaut's CosmoBlog. In addition to posting a lot of super obscure music they also post some comics in .cbr format. I've always been a fan of the old Warren comics, ever since my uncle gave a bunch of issues of Creepy and Eerie when I was a kid. So I thought it might be fun to post a few issues of Eerie that I just got in .cbr format. In order to view .cbr files you need a program like CDisplay, which you can find with a quick Google search. Also, I found that if you just use the WinRAR Archiver you can open them as well. Of course with CDisplay it's easier to actually read them, but WinRAR will do the trick.

I'm just putting up three random issues I have to sort of test it out and see if anyone is interested in any more of them. I have a ton of Eerie comics like this, and I'm getting some other pretty cool horror-themed comics that I may post if there is any interest. The issues included in this set are #43 (Nov. 1972), #89 (Jan 1978), and #110 (Apr. 1980), a few of my personal favorites. I only put up 3 since I'm not sure how high the demand is going to be for these, and these things are about 30MB a piece, so I stopped at 3 to keep it under 100MB.

Note: These aren't my scans, I got them from a site I frequent and the guy who posted them didn't really say whose scans they were on all of them, so I'm not sure who to credit. But thanks a ton to whoever is responsible for scanning them.

Jean Rollin Interview from 1982 Starburst Magazine

I thought this was pretty interesting. It's a Jean Rollin interview from Starburst Magazine, their 1982 Zombie Issue to be exact. Which, incidentally was one of the coolest eBay purchases I've made. I'm a big Rollin fan and I thought it was cool hearing about a film he's "preparing to do called Living Dead Girl." Click on the image above to actually read the interview.

I don't want no chicks with zits, I want fine chicks!

Here is the Unofficial Soundtrack to The Stoned Age. The Stoned Age is one of several movies out there that just doesn't have an actual soundtrack album. A bit odd I think, given that they probably spent a good deal of the movie's budget securing the rights to the songs featured in the movie. Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple tracks can't be cheap. Anyway, I've thrown together this soundtrack featuring all the songs featured in the movie that I was able to find.

The Stoned Age was the beginning of James Melkonian's directorial career, a career that was pretty much ended the following year with The Jerky Boys. It's often referred to as a lower budget, poorer version of Dazed and Confused, but aside from being set in the 70's and taking place during the span of one day, I don't think it's really all that similar. A little at times, sure, but not a ripoff as I've heard it called before. Dazed has a few rather dramatic scenes, The Stoned Age is pretty much a straight raunchy comedy. I like both films, Dazed a bit more, but you gotta respect The Stoned Age at least a bit. After all, it does feature the best "pissing in the ice tray" scene ever filmed.

One line in the movie bothered me a bit. When asked to describe how the movie's "fine chick" looks, a character says she looks "just like that chick from the Virgin Killer album". This is an odd statement being that the "chick from the Virgin Killer album" was a naked prepubescent girl. Now either the writer never actually saw the album cover and made a mistake, or he is a complete and total pervert.

Now for some random information that I'm too lazy to string together into a proper paragraph:

Renee Griffin, who plays the hot and frequently naked or half naked Lanie is the wife of James Marshall who played James Hurley on 24 episodes of Twin Peaks. Frankie Avalon makes a brief appearance as Frankie Avalon at the end of the movie. Also look out for Jake "The Teeth" Busey in a brief appearance at a party, doing his spot-on weird looking asshole impression. And, if you stay for the credits, a couple members of Joe and Hubb's beloved BOC show up selling bootleg T-Shirts from their very own band. That's awesome if you ask me.

Sadly, I couldn't find everything listed on the IMDB page for the movie, but I did get most of them. Some of them just don't seem to exist anywhere. Also I wanted to thank Vinnie at Vinnie Rattolle's Rare Records, I grabbed the Cat Scratch Fever track from him a while back in his expanded Detroit Rock City soundtrack.

1. Stoned Age Text Crawl
2. Black Sabbath - Paranoid
3. Ted Nugent - Cat Scratch Fever
4. Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear (The Reaper)
5. Blue Oyster Cult - Burnin' For You
6. Foghat - Slow Ride
7. Foghat - Drivin' Wheel
8. Montrose - Rock Candy
9. The Trammps - Disco Inferno
10. KC And The Sunshine Band - I Like To Do It
11. BT Express - Do It (Till You're Satisfied)
12. Focus - Hocus Pocus
13. T-Rex - Bang A Gong (Get It On)
14. Led Zeppelin - In The Light
15. Wild Cherry - Play That Funky Music
16. Deep Purple - Highway Star
17. Richard Strauss - Also Sprach Zarathustra

I'd kick his ass if it wasn't for his massive upper body strength.

Les Baxter - Space Escapade

This is the late, great Les Baxter and one of the several albums he put out in 1958, Space Escapade. I love the cover for this. Looks like those astronauts are gonna get tanked off of some space cocktails and try to score with those Martian chicks. Who can blame them? I'm not really into women from other planets, but man that pink one is hot. You know, for a Martian. The great thing about the cover is that it fits the music perfectly. If you were to throw a retro-futuristic cocktail party, this would be the only album you'd need. Holy crap that's not a bad idea. If I knew more than like 6 people I would absolutely throw a retro-futuristic cocktail party. All the guys have to come wearing really bright space/snow suits with fishbowl helmets. And all the ladies have to come as neon colored Martians in go-go boots. Since I don't know more than 6 people, I hope someone out there uses that idea. Here's the album, just in case:

1 Shooting Star
2 Moonscape
3 Mr. Robot
4 The City
5 A Distant Star
6 The Commuter
7 Winds of Sirius
8 The Other Side of the Moon
9 Somewhere in Space
10 Earth Light
11 The Lady Is Blue
12 Saturday Night on Saturn

Identify this clip - Win nothing!

Okay, I had someone post this track over on my requests thread. They weren't sure what it's from, and sadly I had no idea either. However, I've encountered many knowledgeable people since this site started up, so hopefully one of you can help to identify this music.

While searching around for a picture of a man in a question mark suit to symbolize the questioning nature of this post I stumbled upon a truly frightening image. An image that sent shivers down my spine. I give you The Riddler - Serial Murderer:

Yikes.

Graveyard Alive

Free Image Hosting at allyoucanupload.com
Sadly there are only a few tracks in this post, these were ripped from Graveyard Alive, which is a rather low budget (yet very well shot) Canadian zombie film from 2003. Graveyard Alive: A Zombie Nurse in Love is sometimes used as the full title, it sort of reminds me of fellow Canadian film Fido, or maybe Bob Balaban's My Boyfriend's Back, only Graveyard Alive is less of an outright comedy, or at least not as funny as those other two. All three have a 50's look and feel to them and all three of the films have a character attracted to a zombie, but done in a cute way, and not a gross necrophilia kinda way. This one is a bit darker though and has a pretty downbeat ending.

There was no soundtrack from what I could find, so I present to the couple dozen or so people who have actually seen the film a few tracks I ripped from the DVD. The music was done by Martin Pelland who plays bass in the band The Dears. One track plays during an erotic bath/flesh-eating dream sequence. The next track is of Patsy Powers (our titular Zombie Nurse) singing a song during an open mike night in a club. And the third and final track is a very catchy French pop/rock song that plays over the end credits. Could probably be a moderate radio hit if they released it as such. I wasn't totally sure on the title, but the only French title in the music credits was by a band called Les Breastfeeders, so I assume that was it.

1. Bubble Bath of Blood
2. Zombie Patsy Open Mike
3. Les Breastfeeders - Laisse autant le vent tout emporter

...those scissor thingies...

Sorry for the small amount of tracks, the score was really cool, but not a lot of it was rip-able. Here's hoping some kind of actually soundtrack comes out eventually. Stay tuned for John Carpenter's They Live.

The Beginning of the End : A Manchester Morgue Compilation

Before I start, don't worry, this post does not mark the "beginning of the end" of the site. This post will also not have anything to do with the gigantic radioactive grasshopper film from the 50's. Instead this is just another compilation I put together. It occurred to me the other day that there has been a veritable assload of songs to use "The Beginning of the End" or "The End of The Beginning" as the title. Sure, it's a clever title. Once. Not 2 or 3 hundred times. I mean seriously people, have we run out of words? At least the Smashing Pumpkins tried to mix it up a bit with The End is the Beginning is the End. But that still had the same basic idea, they just made it more confusing. So this compilation is my way of saying "See - I told you there were a lot of songs with that title".

Despite the lack of titling creativity on the part of those who named the songs, it turns out a lot of the Beginning of the End/End of the Beginning songs are pretty good. I started making this compilation as a joke, but I actually quite like a majority of the songs, I've already listened to this thing twice now today. Hopefully you guys like some of these songs as well. And before anyone points it out, I realize bitching about how it's dumb to name a song "The Beginning of the End" when I myself am calling this compilation that very same thing makes me look like an asshole. But really, I'm no writer, I couldn't think of anything else to call it. So The Beginning of the End it is. If they can do it, why can't I?

The cover for this one is art I borrowed from Criterion's DVD of the Karloff film First Man Into Space. I'm not sure who did the artwork for that cover, but I really love all of the art from the Monsters and Madmen set, so I wanted to use it for the cover. Being the Photoshop wizard that I am, I had the painstaking task of typing 9 words and strategically placing them on the cover. Hard work, as you can imagine. As with the last compilation I made, or any I might make in the future, I'm posting it to be a bit of a smartass and make fun of the abundance of different songs with the same title, but I'm also hoping to expose some of you to bands you haven't heard before that you might end up really liking. So if you like anything you hear on this I recommend you seek out and purchase music from these bands or artists. For example, God is an Astronaut actually has a new album coming out very soon. Or, it might be out now even. Hint. So with that said, I hope you enjoy this celebration of one of the most overused song titles in the history of song titles.

Ikon - Beginning of the End
God is an Astronaut - The End of the Beginning
30 Seconds to Mars - The End of the Beginning
Cockney Rejects - Beginning of the End
HIM - The Beginning of the End
Into Eternity - Beginning of the End
Wizard - The Beginning of the End
Morose - Beginning of the End
Bastards - Beginning of the End
Tragedy - Beginning of the End
Eddie and the Hot Rods - Beginning of the End
Nine Inch Nails - The Beginning of the End
Robert Leiner - Beginning of the End
Spineshank - Beginning of the End
Maroon - The Beginning of the End
Crematory - The Beginning of the End
The Bananas - Beginning of the End
Sworn Enemy - The Beginning of the End
Extortion - Beginning of the End
Amebix - Beginning of the End
Ironsword - Beginning of the End

Download

By the way, aside from the God is an Astronaut track, I highly recommend the Ikon, 30 Seconds to Mars, (Hey, their first album was good) Morose, and Wizard tracks. Also, I don't know if the Ironsword song is supposed to be funny, but I found it pretty hilarious. Hilarious enough even to cause me to make some weird snorting noise from laughing so hard. The vocals are magnificently cheesy in just the right way. Genius.

Bob Clark we hardly knew you...

Tremendously awful news to report. As some of you know, I'm a huge Black Christmas fan. Well I just heard that it's director Bob Clark (2nd from the left in the picture above) was killed in a car accident early this morning. He was 67. His son Ariel, 22, was with him at the time and he died as well. Here's an article with more details, looks like a drunk driver caused the accident. As usual in this kinda thing the drunken asshole is gonna be perfectly fine, (physically, not so much legally) while the respectable, non-drunk person doesn't make it out alive. This is the bullshit of all bullshits, and I hope the person responsible gets what is coming to him.

If you aren't familiar with the man by name, you'll surely know some of his work. Bob was responsible for several classic films, Black Christmas, A Christmas Story, Porky's, as well as a couple of lesser known (among regular folk, my people are familiar with these as well) films like Deathdream, and Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things. I was just watching Bob on the Black Christmas remake DVD extras yesterday, he seemed like a genuinely sweet guy. It's a terrible shame to see him and his rather young son go, they will be missed.

Tangerine Dream - Flashpoint

Tangerine Dream's music from the 1984 film Flashpoint, starring Treat Williams, Kris Kristofferson, and Kurtwood Smith. I've never seen the movie before, (or really heard much about it for that matter) but I'm willing to bet that Kurtwood plays a complete hard ass. I'm also willing to be that Miguel Ferrer's character is a bit of a cocky bastard.

I can't say I'm a fan of the CD cover. Looks like some kind of low budget Desert-themed white guy rap album that would be called something like "If U Can't Take Da Heat...", or some other intentionally misspelled nonsense. Normally if the cover is this bad I'll use the movie's poster or a DVD cover instead. Sadly, the poster isn't very good either, and the DVD cover seems to be trying to sucker people into buying it based on the fact that Treat Williams can kinda look like Mel Gibson if you see him from the right angle. So, CD cover it is. Anyway, the music underneath the crappy cover art isn't TD's best work, but it still makes for a good listen. I think it'd be really good "driving while in a bit of a hurry because you're a little late for work" music. It has a good "mildly urgent chase" feel to it. I don't know, as you can see, it's kinda hard to explain. Check it out though.

Introducing Nightchillers Rare Music

Just wanted to ask everyone to head on over to the newly founded Nightchillers Rare Music that was just started up by my good friend Jason*. He just started a couple days ago, but he's off to a promising start with The Omega Man and a great track from the film Modern Problems. Get over there and say hello. He's a hell of a guy, plus anyone who tells William Smith to fuck off is okay in my book. Really Will, up yours already.

*Jason is not, nor has he ever been Jason Alexander of Seinfeld fame. I don't happen to have a picture of this particular Jason, so another Jason had to be used in his place. Sorry for any confusion. Well, go on, click on the link...

Harry Manfredini - Friday the 13th: 3-D!

Today I bring you some Jason-y goodness, this is Friday the 13th:3-D by Harry Manfredini. It contains the kinda creepy/hilariously funky theme from Part 3 (lets play a theremin over some bad funk, that can't possibly go wrong!), as well music from Part 1 and Part 2. It also includes 'Fly Away, Little Bird' by Harry Manfredini which plays when Jason attacks Alice in the lake in Part 1. Also of note, not that it matters much here, but this was released with a 3-D cover complete with 3-D glasses. I'd love to actually get my hands on that. This is yet another contribution the same magnificent individual responsible for the last couple of Carpenter scores I recently posted. This guy is getting more awesome by the day.

Part 3 is one of my favorites of the series. Shot in 3-D but never officially released on video that way (I've seen bootleg 3-D versions floating around) so the film is filled with moments of people making sure something is always flying towards the camera. Be it a yo-yo, or pitchfork, or what have you. I believe it was the last to use the "Previously..On Friday the 13th" style opening showing the end of the previous film at the beginning to recap what all went down in the last film. I could be wrong though, I can't remember how 4 starts. While one of my favorites, it has the second most annoying F13 character in Shelly the Doofus (2nd behind Joey the Retard from Part 5). The old "make your friends think you've been murdered or that you're a masked murderer who is going to kill them" gag has never really been successfully pulled off, neither in movie form or real life form. Shelly was a pain in the ass, but he is the one responsible for Jason getting his mask so he was good for something. On a side note, I was a kid when these things were coming out, every Halloween you'd see the "Hockey Mask" mask in the store, but how come they never really had a actual Jason mask? They always just put out these cheap completely white hockey masks, they never did one with the markings or made it dirty looking or anything. What the hell?

Werewolf In Unnecessarily Short Gym Shorts : A Manchester Morgue Compilation

I've noticed over the years that a great deal of bands (usually of the punk and/or metal variety) like to name songs after horror films, or characters from horror films. So I've gone ahead and put together this compilation I like to call "Werewolf In Unnecessarily Short Gym Shorts". I know, random sounding title, but when I was scanning the cover to the comic I used for the cover it just kinda came to me. I even threw a little "Wolfman's got nards" reference in there for those of you who, like myself, enjoy a good testicle joke. The title doesn't really make any more or any less sense than the title from the first compilation I did and nobody complained about that, so I guess we're good.

Like most compilations, I'm hoping you'll hear something you like here and find a band you've never heard of and end up falling in love with them. Of course, not a lot of people will just now be discovering The Ramones, The Misfits or Blue Oyster Cult, but there are some lesser known bands you might not have heard of. A lot of the albums these songs are from are in print, but I've seen a lot of similar comps on a lot of other sites, so hopefully nobody minds.

I cheated a bit, some of these songs really don't have a lot to do with the movie/character in the title, I don't think Fields of the Nephilim's Reanimator does, and Starkweather's Slither came out over a decade before James Gunn's film came out, but they are very cool songs, so I wanted to add them because I like them, they have movie titles, and they bump the tracklist up to an even 20 tracks. Admittedly it's an incredibly schizophrenic looking tracklist, but I thought it was about time someone put BOC and Mortician on the same album.

The Ramones - Pet Sematary
The 69 Eyes - Frankenhooker
Fields of the Nephilim - Reanimator
Edgar Winter Group - Frankenstein
The Damned - Psychomania
Dr. Chud's X-Ward - Spiderbaby
Frightmare - Friday the 13th Part 2
Los Straightjackets - Tarantula
Phenomena (Glenn Hughes on vocals) - Twilight Zone
Coroner - Intro (to Nosferatu)
Coroner - Nosferatu
S.O.D.:Stormtroopers of Death - Freddy Krueger
Sloppy Seconds - The Horror of Party Beach
The Mist - Scarecrow
Sentinel Beast - Phantom of the Opera
Misfits - Die Monster Die
Starkweather - Slither
Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla
Mortician - Wolfen
Zombies At My Neighbors - Chopping Mall

So, some notes on some of my choices:

Blue Oyster cult - Godzilla - I've heard this song so many times it's lost all meaning, but I just had to include it.

Sentinel Beast - Phantom of the Opera - We've all heard Iron Maiden's version a thousand times, so I thought I'd put one of the lesser known covers of it instead, this is a female fronted thrash approach to the song.

The Mist - Scarecrow - Cheated kinda with this one, the movie I'm thinking of is called Scarecrows, but I already put it on there, so I'll leave it, cool song. Although there are several movies with Scarecrow in the title. Also of note, the singer apparently attended the Lemmy School of Vocal Styling, but he must've dropped out halfway through because he can't quite pull it off.

Fields of the Nephilim - Reanimator - Based on the lyrics, this has nothing to do with Re-animator, it's not even spelled with the - in the title, but, like I said, it's a damn fine song, so here it is.

Starkweather - Slither - Cheated again, this came out waaaaayyy before the movie, but I enjoy it, hopefully you will too. It's actually probably too dark to fit in with this compilation.

Anyway, there you have it, Werewolf in Unnecessarily Short Gym Shorts, check it out and stop back by and let me know what you think. I'm still working on my next compilation, Rollercoaster...Of Death, which I started quite a while ago, hopefully I can finish it up soon.

Tankard - Zombie Attack

This is Tankard's debut album Zombie Attack, which tackles subjects such as joyful alcoholism, pesky zombies ruining movie night, being metal, and the frightening possibility of a Third World War. Yeah, weird, they get all serious on us on that last one there. That aside, this is a truly fun album if you like your metal a bit on the thrashy side.
I really love the album cover, you got Disco Dracula, Fatguy Wolfman, Leisure Suit Party Animal Frankenstein, uh, Pull My Finger Skeleton (?) and some random Lumberjack Axe Murderer Guy just hanging out, watching the tube and scaring the hell out of some woman. If this cover doesn't scream "fun times", then I don't know what does.

Comedian Richard Jeni Has Died

Sad news to report, (because I'm sure this is a the first place you come for news) comedian Richard Jeni has died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. It hasn't been confirmed as a suicide, he was found by his girlfriend, I wonder if this could be similar to Phil Hartman's death. Here's the article for those interested in reading. It says he was 45, although I think he was born in 1957, so that's not correct. Regardless of age, it's a shame to see him go so soon.

I'll leave you with some words of wisdom from Richard:
"My mother never saw the irony of calling me a son of a bitch."

Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise Mini Soundtrack

For some reason there doesn't appear to be an actual soundtrack for this one. So I've made a little 5 track "mini" Revenge of the Nerds II soundtrack because I don't really have a whole lot going on today. I had ripped the Nerds "No On Fifteen" rap and the epic sounding Star Wars-style text scroll part so I figured I'd throw a few other tracks from the movie here as well. It only consists of 5 tracks, because while finding Devo and .38 Special songs couldn't be easier, finding songs from Larry Lee or Darryl Duncan, not so easy. However, these tracks are the only memorable songs featured in the movie anyway, so here they are.

While not as funny, or as good as the first Nerds, I still really enjoy this first sequel. I actually still have a copy of this movie from Errol's, which later became Blockbuster. Or was later bought out by Blockbuster, I'm not 100% sure really. The tape is 20 years old, and has some kind of white residue on the inside of the tape, which makes me afraid to even put it in a VCR, but Errol's had those really cool big-ass red boxes so I just can't get rid of it.

I was curious about something while rewatching the movie yesterday. I haven't watched Part III or Part IV from the box set yet, and I barely remember watching them years ago, but I noticed Julia Montgomery shows up as Betty Scolnick in III and IV. Yet, apart from a picture of her in Louis' suitcase she doesn't show up in Part II, and Lewis ends up awful friendly-like with Courtney Thorne-Smith's character Sunny. So did Lewis cheat on Betty with Sunny in Part II? Was she a freebie for him while he was away? Is this ever explained? Guess I'll be watching to find out.

01. The Epic Nerds II Text Scroll
02. Devo - Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini
03. .38 Special - Back to Paradise
04. Pseudo Echo - Funky Town
05. Larry B. Scott and His Fellow Nerds - No On Fifteen

The Adventures of Ford Fairlane

This is the soundtrack Renny Harland's 1990 film The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. The film marked the first leading role for the Diceman and was also the recipient of several of the highly coveted Razzie awards that year. Andrew Dice Clay is Ford Fairlane, the world's greatest, and presumably only "Rock 'n' Roll Detective". That's right, he shares his name with the car he drives. Whether he was born into this name and thought it'd be ironic to drive a Fairlane, or he was given a nickname based on his car choice is never really explained. Or maybe it was, hell I don't know, the man has a lot of dialogue, I could've missed it.

Sure, it's not that good, but it is pretty damn funny at times. Also, kinda irritating at times, but either way, you've gotta love any movie that features appearances by Ed O'Neill as Lt. Anus, Robert Englund, Gilbert Gottfried, Vince Neil (no relation to Ed O'), and Wayne Newton, at least a little bit. In a rare occurrence for this site, this post is actually timely, Andrew has a new "reality" show on VH1 that premiered earlier today. Theres a repeat later tonight I think, for the few interested people out there.

The soundtrack features Queensryche, Billy Idol and Motley Crue among others. Also featuring Tone Loc. I'm sure he's a cool guy and all but his voice is pretty rough, the man could really use a lozenge. Sadly I don't think there is an actual version of Ed's "Booty Time" song, at least not that I could find. I'm sure nothing more than that little chorus part featured in the film was even written. It's a shame really.
